Of all the smaller screen LCD TV's the LG 22LH2000 is an absolute gem. Due to its impressive 8000:1 contrast ratio the picture is clean and crisp and bright, and even viewing in regular standard definition the picture is very good.
A common complaint about smaller screen LCD's is the poor quality or tinny sound, and while the LG 22LH2000 does sound a bit weedy if left on its default settings if you go into the sound menu and turn on the SRS TruSurround and turn the bass up to 80 the sound is incredibly good for a small TV.
As a side note, the images shown in the Amazon photos are not the UK spec 22LH2000. The version sold in the UK is slightly different in that the power, volume control and channel buttons are located just behind the the top right of the screen and not on the bottom right hand side as pictured in the photo's.
At the price Amazon are selling at this TV is an absolute steal and a hundred quid cheaper than on the high street.

If you're a Sky user the Sky remote control code for this TV is '1293', though this TV only works with 'Rev 8' Sky Remote controls.
Good Tv for under 200 quid

i cant believe some of the other reviews for this tv, the sound quality is fine, if you want cinema surround sound you're going to need an external amp, thats the same with bigger tv's that cost 3x the price.

i got this as a bedroom tv for my mum, its very easy to use, has analogue and digital tuners, hdmi/scart inputs (which i dont think she will use).

the analogue tuner is handy (even though terrestrial is being turned off) if you want to watch Sky over the RF connection (using a magiceye) the TV's sky remote code is 0206 , this took a while to figure out (must have tried about 50 codes) but now i can control the tv (and the volume) using the sky remote.

another review says that you cant use the rf connection (ant/aerial) to plug in vcr's and similar devices, this isnt true. you just have to set it to the right mode (I), it picks up the picture using "BG" but theres no sound untill its switched to the right Pal mode (pal I).

i tried it out with my ps3 and bluray playback looks fine, its possible to zoom the picture in and alter the aspect ratio, so you can crop the black bars from some movies and make the most of the small screen size.

overall a decent tv and a good upgrade from a 15inch crt.
Amazing!

After having a my first 22" touch screen Samsung TV, which i had to send back faulty. I was not amused, not had alot of luck with TV's this past year, yet this TV has exceded my expectations.
After firstly being the cheapest 22" LCD (decent brand) with built in freeview, it seemed a reasonable TV, and fitted the spec that I asked for, and I have well and truely been taken a back by this.
This is nothing to compare, blows Samsung straight out of the water!
The picture quality is superb as is the sound, has the right amount of connectors, and connecting it to my apple mac to use to edit video footage is excellent.
Delivered promptly and exactly to description.
Great looking TV as well.
VERY Happy!
Have recomended this to a friend.
An excellent first TV to have as well!!!
5*****.

Reviewer: Luke Farrugia,
Just got this TV today, and it looks and works great! Freeview worked better than I expected and all the installation and setting up was so easy (even my grandma could have figured it out on her own!). I decided to buy it after looking at alot of positive ratings for this product! All I have to say is that its extremely worth its money, and is such a beautiful TV! Delivery was remarkable also, since it arrived in less than 2days (with Amazon prime one day delivery).

It also comes with the standard 12month warranty (amazon fail to mention that) and LG also give you the option to buy extended warranties (as do amazon). I have to say that some reviews have been really harsh on the sound, which I think is great (surround) and also the size, I bought mine for the living room and I have to say it doesn't feel too small...all in all, great buy, no negative feedback at all.

LG - Brilliant TV

Reviewer: Mr. T. N. Holdsworth,
TV has a brilliant picture, excellent sound (especially with clear voice on), probably not ideal for a living room but bedroom or similar works great.
Nice graphical menus, easy to use.

Overall I am pleased with it, as I only buy high quality TV's. (you use them every day don't you).
Fantastic TV for price

Fantastic TV bought for a bedroom. Excellent picture quality with an inside aerial and picked up all channels. I picked the LG model based on previous reviews for LG using their lastest technology in smaller models, and the fact it seemed to perform well with an inside aerial, which it does.
LG Has produced a winner

Ok, before I tell you how much I love this TV, I'm going to have a moan about LG's quality control at their factory.

I'm on my second LG 22LH2000 because the first one was sent out from the factory with the "Power" "Input" "Menu" and "Ok" buttons on the set not working (it worked fine using the remote). It really isn't good enough that this set got past quality control without the most obvious of controls being tested, so I think LG need to improve their quality control - the replacement though appears to be ok so far.

Ok rant over, so let's get on with the review.

I have to say that this LG TV has stunning picture quality for a standard definition TV. The default settings are ok, but you have to go into the 'Advanced Settings' to achieve what this TV is truly capable of producing, that is pin sharp pictures and excellent colours (once you set it up properly) and good sound quality. The advanced picture settings adjustments in the Expert 1 and 2 menus are not for the faint hearted, but of course if you mess up you can always reset the picture to the default settings and start again. I spent over 4 hours setting up the channels, picture, colour and sound on this TV and the end results far exceeded my expectations for a LCD TV. One great help with setting up the picture and colour, was the internal test card and colour bars which are available in the Expert options - this was not mentioned in the .pdf manual.

I have never been an advocate of LCD TV's because I've never seen one that can beat my 28" Sony CRT TV for picture quality, but this new LG TV has changed my views completely on LCD TV's. I do have a small analogue LG LCD TV that I bought for the bedroom about 4 years ago, but I was never that impressed with the picture quality on it, but LCD TV's have come a long way in the past 4 years.

Already having a LG TV, at least I was used to the menu system used by LG so it enabled me to set up the new TV without any reference to the CD manual that came with the TV. I was a little disappointed at first because I couldn't get the Freeview Digital channels in the order that I wanted them. On the set-top boxes on my other TV's, I have channels bunched together like BBC1,2,3 and 4 and ITV1,2,3 and 4 and so on.
On the new LG TV I could move the channels to any channel numbers I wanted on the analogue tuner of the TV, but I couldn't find the option to move the channels on the Digital tuner.
It looked as though I would have to have the channels in their logical numbers as dictated by their position on the multiplexes ie: BBC1, BBC2, ITV1, Ch4, Ch5 ect.
After spending some time going through the menus again, I noticed on the 'Auto Tuning' menu that there was a default tick in the 'Automatic Numbering' box. Un-ticking this box and doing another Auto Scan resulted in the option to move the channel positions, so now I'm a happy bunny. So remember before you do an 'Auto Scan' to un-tick the box next to 'Automatic Numbering' if you want to be able to move the Digital channels to your preferred positions.

As pointed out by Doug Smith in his review, there is a slight problem with back light leakage which shows up at the top and bottom of the screen on dark pictures. I think this is something that LG needs to address in the future, but then the future is LED so there is no need for a back light. Personally, I don't find the back light leakage to be much of a problem so long as you don't set the back light or contrast levels excessively high.

There is one point that someone mentioned in a review, about there being no option to switch between the Analogue TV, Digital TV or Radio Stations.
It appears that after doing a "Auto Tune" that all received stations are displayed in one long list, this can be a pain to have to go through when you only want say Freeview channels. As you will probably want to use the TV on the Freeview channels mostly, then a simple solution to the list problem is to go into the "Edit" Channels option and select "Skip" on all of the Analogue TV, Unwanted Digital and Radio channels. Doing this, will then just display the Freeview stations in the list when you press the up/down channel buttons on the remote, this makes it easier to scan through just the Digital TV stations. Now if you want to view an Analogue TV or skipped Digital channel or listen to a Radio Station, then pressing the "List" button on the remote will show *all* the channels including the skipped channels (which will show up fainter in the list) you can then select your desired station.

The LG 22LH200 is a great TV and you will not be sorry if you purchase it, but my advice is to go tweak those Advanced Picture Settings and you will end up with a standard definition TV that is second to none.

P.S When my Sony CRT croaks it, :-) it will definitely be replaced by a large LG.
Great LG LCD

Straight out of the box, up and running within 5 minutes. Picture is superb, sound is pretty good (turning up the bass improves it loads)I set this up at the in-laws, when I re-connected their Proline LCD I realised just how good the LG was, their Proline picture looked really poor and the sound was unbelievably tinny.
If you buy this LG Lcd you wont be dissappointed.
Great small screen LCD TV

Fantastic!...Excellent in every way you would need from a 22 inch LCD for bedroom or kitchen. Picture quality is 10/10 even with non amplified indoor aerial (picks up every available digital channel), sound qulaity is 9/10 and build quality again 10/10. Don't delay in purchasing can't recommend it highly enough.
