rock solid tv panasonic txp37x10

I have just had this tv 2 day .The build quality is 1st class the tv sits rock solid on its stand unlike LG tvs which can rock back and forward. The glass fronted screen is a great bonus on a plasma tv compared to the plastic screens on LCD tvs.Set up was simple and with the eco mode set to on it should not be a lot harder on electric than Lcd.This tv can talk to dvd and blueray players and work them from its remote but you need to use a panasonic or sony hdmi cable .The cheaper after market hdmi cables do not have all the pins wired to allow this . One last point on eco mode. On the picture menu you have the choice of .normal .cinema.game or dynamic
and each has its own settings .Go through these 4 options and set eco to on . For the money this is 1st class.
Great TV

I've had this TV for 3 days and I'm very happy with it. I'd read a few mixed reviews after ordering it and was concerned that it might not live up to my expectations, but it has. The picture quality is excellent, and I'm still only viewing SD (Sky, Freeview and Analogue) broadcasts through it while I wait for Sky HD to be installed. The quality of black levels while watching 24 were great. Picture quality from my Playstation 3 (games and blu-ray) are great too. I was also concerned that it might not seem big enough for my lounge (generally sitting about 3m - 3.5m from the screen) but it seems the perfect size. I fully recommend this TV.
Brilliant picture and sound

Took delivery of my new P37X10B yesterday. I supported my local high street shop rather than Amazon because I thought I might need help with setup and they delivered immediately. But installation proved a doddle and I was up and running with my Sky+ box and (very old) DVD and VHS recorders within 10 minutes. I only have SD but the picture is brilliant - in every sense - both in Sky mode and Freeview: far, far superior to my old huge 28" JVC. The surround sound is also effective - I can anly assume it is an improvement on last year's model which was subject to some criticism. In summary I am delighted. I tend to sit about 2 metres away from the screen and that is fine - I would not want to sit any nearer to a screen this size. Highly recommended.

Wow. I'd delayed buying a plasma TV as others I had seen seemed to pixelate and movement was blurred. Not on this one. The colours are vivid when they should be, but it also handles subtle changes in tone and hue. Watching a Pixar DVD through it is like watching a different movie. Sound is great, and its auto-set up as soon as you plug it in means that it is ready to watch in 10 minutes.
I love this TV

Way better than the sony bravia 3700 for only £100 more, i bought the sony a week prior to this one and wasnt happy with the performance. I thought id give this 1 a twirl and am i glad i did, not that im an expert on TV's but i can defo see a difference in the 2 telly's. So if like me you dont know which to get i would go for a plasma.
Excellent Picture Quality

I bought this TV as a present for my nephews to play their Wii & XBox 360 on. Set-up was straightforward, with only the stand having to be screwed together; a 2 minute job.

The quality of the image when we fired up the XBox with Halo 3 was awesome. No smearing or any other artifacts were apparent. The contrast and detail were outstanding. Us adults ended up gawping at them playing it!

The surround sound seemed fine for gaming. Plenty loud enough and a fair amount of bass. A movie-buff may need external speakers but that just adds clutter I reckon.

It certainly is a handsome set and the build-quality looks excellent.

A very nice set which I can recommend to you.

On Monday evening our trusty Sony trinitron CRT TV died in the middle of our enjoying tennis at Wimbledon. A hasty hunt via Google left me considering the Panasonic TX-P37X10B. Tuesday morning found Amazon had the best deal plus there were nothing but 5 star reviews so the order was made for express delivery by 1pm Thursday (full marks for that - it arrived 11.57). It was up and running shortly after, in time for the 2nd Ladies' semi-final.
Straightforward, superb picture, sound VG, no motion problems whatsoever, easy everything. Can't believe what we've been missing. Image so good it seems hardly worth bothering to get HD although I do know how good it can be. Seems like I'm tempting fate by being so pleased but we are really absolutely delighted straight away.
Glowing success

My old CRT set finally gave up the ghost and I bought this set a month ago, deciding to get plasma rather than LCD after hearing that it dealt better with non HD input. I have not been disappointed.
The picture is so easy on the eye; warm and smooth, beautiful from all angles. Compared with LCD sets this is like sitting in front of a real log fire rather than a gas one.
The sound is perfectly acceptable for TV viewing, though for movies I have the set linked into an AV system.
Very easy to set up and use. All freeview channels are received and automatically updated. The viera link works fine with my Panasonic DVD recorder, and I do not feel the need to rush into purchasing a Blue Ray player as the picture from upscaled DVD is excellent.
Would Highly Recommend This TV

I spent months agonising whether to buy plasma or LCD to replace my 28 inch Sony CRT as most i'd seen didn't impress with the picture quality compared to my old set.
I eventually decided on this TV and i am vey happy with the set so far. I only watch SD Sky+ content and would say the picture is even better than i expected. The sound quality is also very good for a flatscreen TV as i was worried that it may be a bit 'tinny'.
The only advice i would give anybody is don't waste months, like i did, researching all the different TV's and just buy this one.
stunning value

Like many others I have researched hundreds of TV's and have agonised over the whole lcd and plasma debate. I have now had this TV for week and wanted to delay reviewing it to give an honest account. I am absolutely chuffed with my decision in buying this television. Even without having a full 1080p HD resolution, this TV is stunning and is better than any of its rivals at this price. If you feed this TV a decent signal (mine is through a Virgin media box), you will see a great range of colours and excellent black levels. Linked to an xbox 360, it is like playing new games, there is so much detail and clarity to the images. Top build quality and top marks.
Superb TV for the price.

I was going to replace my old 28" toshiba CRT TV next year and was looking at televisions on Amazon, just out of curiosity and to know what was available and which kind of prices I was expected to pay for a decent TV when I was ready to buy one, when I spotted this very reasonably priced panasonic plasma television. Then I read the reviews and was most impressed to see that it was mostly given 5 stars.
The low price and the good reviews (and the fact that it has a glass fronted screen, which I prefer) made me decide to buy this TV this year (one month ago) as it sounded like a very good bargain not to be missed.
I didn't know much about plasma TVs and got looking on the internet for more information.
One negative point was that plasma tvs use more power than Lcd tvs. This TV is described as using 0.7 watts in standby and has an on mode average power consumption of 189 watts, which is not bad for a plasma.
Following one of the expert reviews, panasonic would have achieved such low power consumption by sacrificing some brightness compared with previous models. Even if this is the case, the picture on this TV is still superb, and there are enough options to tweak the picture to your taste.
The television was rather surprisingly heavy, but I did arrive to fix the stand and place it on my entertainment unit without problems. The black bezel looks good and 37" is big enough when you sit at 6.5 ft from the screen.
The first time you turn the TV on,the automatic set up kicks in and the TV is ready to use in 5 minutes.
The clear sharp natural picture with good deep blacks and nice colour tones has blown me away from the start.
Of course, you need to be careful at the beginning as plasma tvs need a bedding in period (at least for the first 200 hours of use), when you need to take it easy with the picture settings, be careful as well with logos on some channels and the two black bars at the top and bottom of the screen when viewing some programs or DVDs to avoid burns in. Just change channel for a minute every hour if you are watching a channel with a logo or the two bars that stays there for more than one hour, and avoid still pictures for a long period of time, especially during the bedding in time.
This TV has lots of connection options. The audio is adequate, and you still have the option to add to the audio to make it better, if you want.
I am so glad I took the plunge and bought this TV, this is definitively an item that should be on the buying list of people who are thinking of ditching their old style TV or replacing a TV they are not totally happy with.
VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
