I'd be surprised if you could do better...

Bought this TV for our bedroom after looking at pretty much everything available from 15-20" screens with Freeview.
In general terms it looks great, very well designed and it's easy to manage the cables coming out of the back of it to keep them out of sight. Also the stand doubles as a wall mount if you prefer.
Within 5 minutes of taking it out the box it was set up and ready to view. It's pretty much a case of plugging it in and it does everything itself.
The freeview EPG is great, very easy to use and loads up very quickly.
The remote control is well laid out and has a useful luminous light button that lights up all the general volume and channel buttons if you're watching TV in the dark.
I really cannot find anything negative to say about it, and at the price that you can get it on Amazon you really couldn't do much better. I ordered mine using free supersave delivery and it arrived in 4 days. |

| This is a brilliant buy at a great price. Far cheaper than the high street chains. I'm using it for my XBox 360 and the picture quality is crystal clear. It was easy to set up with a built in stand as well. I haven't used the Freeview side of it yet but the controls look easy enough. We already had the 23" Samsung and knew we wouldn't go wrong with this one. Cant fault Amazon for delivery. I opted for the free delivery and it arrived 24 hours later than if I chose to pay £7.95 for special delivery!! |
Samsung LE19R86 - 19'' Widescreen HD Ready LCD TV - With Freeview - Black

This is an excellent TV, well worth the price, which is reducing all the time. The set cost £250 when I bought it, and even then it was a bargain.
When set up optimally, there is a 3-D quality to the picture and the sound quality is also good.
To get the best picture, experiment with the settings.
It is best set up to view the Freeview digital channels with the P Mode (on the remote) set to use the Standard option.
There is no way to switch off standby other than switching the set off at the mains, but standby uses only 1W of power, which is next to nothing.

| I recently purchased this TV from Comet and (so far) it is brilliant. It has a superb picture and the DNie feature is good as well. The sound is also brilliant for a TV with a 6w output and is more than good enough for my bedroom. It also looks beautiful and is by far the best looking TV on the market. It has lots of different connections at the back and also a slot for a CAM module if you have TopUp TV or Setanta. I have had this product a week and cannot fault it. If I could rate it more highly I would, it deserves more than 5 stars. Definitely a must buy. |

| I ordered this as I need a TV for a spare room. The picture quality is superb with many options. Sounds is also suprisingly good for the size of the TV. Have not tried it with a DVD player yer, but I would certainly recommend it for a small bedroom etc where space is a premimum |

Very impressed and pleased with the TV. Excellent value for money and picture quality.
It is also great that it comes with its own wall mounting kit. |

Recently purchased this lcd tv from amazon.com after a mix up over model numbers when amazon advertised the model 87 on thier web site but supplied the model 86 instead.
All credit to amazon following an email to customer services they promptly sent a replacement wich was also the wrong model, seems there was a mix up over stock items taking nothing away from amazon they dealt with the matter extremely well.
The TV itself is excellent samsung lead the way with style practicality and above all price this TV with its 19" wide screen makes for comfortable viewing in any room a bedroom in particular with built in freeview that makes it digital ready, have not tried PS2 or Xbox through it yet as a game mode can be selected for optimum screen resolution.
Would recomend this model to all and amazon as their price was by far the best on the market |

I bought this TV a few weeks back and I think that it looks and sounds great. I do, however, have a few questions... Is there a wall bracket on the market that means that the TV can be moved to side to side? As the one that it comes with just allows you to move it slightly up and down, and its flat to the wall!
Also when you go into the menu and change the energy saving settings, and turn that annoying blue light off, half an hour later the settings reset again, does this happen to anyone else? If so, can anything be done do you know? I hope that somebody can help me with these questions!
Although I have mentioned the minor problems above, these are just personal issues, and there's nothing wrong with the TV in general, and so I would definitely recommend this TV to anyone looking for a smaller TV for a bedroom, for example. |
Perfect as a bedroom TV

We bought this 10 months ago to use as a TV for our bedroom. The 19-inch screen is just right for our room - big enough to see clearly but also compact enough to sit unobtrusively on top of a chest of drawers.
In use, the quality of both picture and sound is outstanding for a set of this size and cost. We only use Freeview (in conjunction with a plug-in booster aerial) rather than the analogue signal, and picture strength and quality are both excellent.
The set looks stylish and is very easy to set up and use, the stand is sturdy, and even the remote control is pleasingly simple to use despite having the usual plethora of buttons.
My only quibble with the TV is that it has no "off" switch; you can only put it into standby mode, which is a strange omission in an increasingly energy-conscious world. The only way to switch it off properly is to unplug it at the mains, which, for us, sits behind our chest of drawers - a tad impractical!
Overall, though, this is an excellent TV - and the relatively low price (compared to, say, the Sony equivalent) is a bonus. |

| Like another reviewer, I received this tv as a 'freebie' after taking out a mobile phone contract. It sounded too good to be true - renew my phone and get a free tv - but it arrived!!! Initial frustration when it wouldn't give me a decent picture disappeared when I found that I had to press the DTV (digital)button - and 48hrs on - I love it! It's perfect for the conservatory, the EPG is the most sophisticated I've had, it looks good - and there was even an anti-static cleaning cloth in the box from Samsung - way to go! |

I have had this since about September 07, and paid about £280 for it which I thought was good. (I didn't get it from Amazon).
This is a great telly with good colour. Sound, as with other LCDs is not as good as old style TVs due to the lack of space for large speakers.
All the documentation I read before buying said that I'd have to buy a wall mounting kit separately. So I was pleasantly surprised when I found a wall mounting plate in the box. The base folds back and hooks onto the supplied metal plate that you screw onto the wall. I don't know if I was just lucky or whether everyone gets one.
The one downside (but not enough for me to downgrade my star rating) is the time it takes to change channels.
After pressing a channel on the remote it takes over a second for the TV to change channel, then takes over 2 more seconds to decode the digital signal. In all it takes about 4s to change channel. The first delay can be removed by using P+/P-. Anyway, this is only a minor point and just takes getting used to. The tv also reacts slowly to moving up and down on the channel list, and you can't skip a page at a time.
I would definitely get another Samsung. They are also cheaper to other brands but seem just as good to me.

Update:
Its now April 2009, so this is over a year and a half old. It's still works and looks great. Still think it was a great buy. |
