| I have had almost every make of Television over the years and the only one that gives a better picture than this is my state of the art Sony. Never have I had one so easy to set up, plug it in, press a button and away you go. Great value Television. |

I am really pleased with this TV, just what I wanted.
I'd looked around at a number of others in Comet etc, but none were as good as the Sovos. This one was at a great price, and HD ready, and DVD player etc etc and fits perfectly in my bedroom!
I was impressed by Sovos, 2 year UK backed warranty was good- not many other companies seemed to offer this level of service. |
Does everything for a great price

| I purchased this for use in the bedroom. I wanted something that did everything ie Freeview, DVD, on a basic level for a good price. This has just done that. Easy to set up, good picture, no problems. Recommended. |

| Bought this Sovos TV after reading other reviews to replace a budget Goodmans Combi TV whose DVD froze! Very pleased with the picture quality on terrestial TV and with the DVD player. Switching between the various options was not as intuitive as other TVs. To change between TV and DVD you have to select the 'input' from an 'on screen' menu using the remote controller rather than just pressing a DVD/TV button. Otherwise a breeze to set up and great value. |
Fantastic bargain

After looking at many cheap TV's for my kids bedroom (Argos, Dixons, Tesco's etc) the Sovos TV seemed by far the best.
Really glad we went for this as the screen quality is much better than the others we were looking at and the kids love it.

| I was a little reluctant about buying a Sovos as opposed to other better known brands but I gambled and it's paid off. Rather than being disappointed, at this price, I'm really, really impressed. The picture is pretty good, at distance, but not so good if you have your nose pressed against it, and the sound is more than adequate for my large double bedroom and far less tinny than I expected from a telly of this size - no problems at all there. Overall, this a top piece of kit with more features than you can shake a stick at, apart from if you're looking for an SD/USB slot. I only have a couple of niggles - the tv on its stand (although smart and glossy) doesn't tilt or swivel so this can restrict your viewing if you're watching at an unusual angle, and the remote control looks a little on the cheap side. Despite this, for me, this doesn't spoil what is an excellent telly, with a shed-load of top features, at a really good price. Oh, by the way, there's no aerial included if you were expecting one. |

I ordered this product on a Friday for a holiday cottage in Cornwall, (in an area known for bad reception.) We arrived on Sunday, and on Monday the TV/DVD arrived.
My daughter and I plugged it in, and it more or less tuned itself. We soon had wii working too! The picture is good, and I am sure will be even better when we go 'digital'.

| We bought this TV over a month ago, and so far, so great! For the price, you get a lot: digital and analogue tuners, freeview, integrated up-scaling multi-region DVD player, headphone socket, and a fantastic picture, among other things. With regard to the sound, as far as I'm aware, speakers on LCD TVs aren't generally that great, so we weren't expecting anything fantastic, but the sound on this TV is clear - if not powerful - and therefore perfectly adequate for its size and price (and if you plug in some decent headphones, then all the better). Overall, I would absolutely recommend this product. |
Excellent small television

| Easy to set up. Good picture. It's a small box with the maximum possible picture size within its frame; so room for the speaker is necessarily limited. The sound quality is just adequate. But I connect to an external amplifier when I want to listen to good quality sound, from a television channel or radio station. There is no separate audio output. The SCART audio output works with the television, but when using the DVD player still just gives television output. To get an audio signal from the DVD player you have to use the headphone 3.5mm output socket. |
Great item at great price

| Sovos SVTV22D - 22" Widescreen HD Ready LCD TV - With Freeview & Inbuilt DVD PlayerGreat TV/DVD combo. Don't be put off the brand (I'd never heard of it either). Picture quality both on Freeview & DVD is excellent. Sound lacks bass but is perfectly acceptable. Unit is very neat and fits in the bedroom well.Better than similar Hitachi combo I have & picture quality similar to a Toshiba unit I've recently seen. Highly recommended for the price. |
Good Budget TV

Having purchased a 19" Sony Bravia over 12 months ago to fit in our bedroom, which we enjoyed so much it never got to the bedroom but became our family TV, (until recently upgraded to a 32" Bravia), the 19" Sony has now gone to our daughters room.
So we find ourselves looking for a cheap alternative, as the budget was spent on the new 32", (still very resonable from Amazon, but that's another review) So after searching the web, Comet, Dixons, Currys etc.. the only thing that came in close was the Matsui, or the Tecknica(?) from Tescos, so we visited the stores to see what they really looked like, and went back home again, then we came across the Sovos, Freeview, HD Ready (whatever that intails) DVD built in, lots of inputs, even 12 volt DC and the right price.
Product built in Malaysia for a UK company based in the south of England, and there tech department in mid Wales, How do I know this? Well after fitting the TV to my wall, setting the unit to auto search, which it did without any problems and found all the usual freeview channels etc.. Only problem was the picture, seemed to be missing the blue part of the spectrum, On analogue TV picture was great, play a DVD, picture was great, on digital, not so great.
So call the number at the back of the instruction book, got through straight away, took my number and said they would get one of the tech guys to call back. Oh dear we all thought, but no, within the hour a very helpful tech guy rang us and we went through various diagnostic settings which you won't find in the instructions, but to no avail. "Not a problem, we'll send another out to you immediatly"
Next day a courier arrives with a replacement TV, which we fitted, tuned, and have been enjoying ever since. I called Sovos back to say we are happy, and then they arranged a courier to collect the broken TV, at a time and date to suit me, which was just over a week later, excellent service.
Having lived with the TV for a month now the main problem is the slowness of the channel change, and sometimes if you don't have the patience to wait, or you want to change more than once, the TV hangs, and locks up, where you have to switch it off and on again. This only happens on digital but the lovely people at Sovos are getting back to me with a cure.
The EPG (Electronic program guide)is a little messy, offers a whole weeks guide, but as you can't record on the TV, can't see the point really. (The Sony version is a lot clearer)
Audio is a little tinny, offers 4 options, Personel, this lets you adjust bass, treble, and balance, add as much bass as you like, but without external speakers, you'r again wasting your time, Preset EQ for Voice, Music and Theatre. Theatre is the least offensive
Other than that, a great TV |
