I'm impressed with the picture quality .... the tv arrived in no time and was easy to install and set up.
Now the bad news ..... of the three HDMI inputs .... two are at the rear, one is at the side.
Beacause I wanted to wall-mount the unit ..... only the side HDMI was usable ... the others are too close to the wall to be used by standard plugs (and I (and others with the same problem) can't find any other design that would work).

We received our LG 42LH4000, rapidly after ordering same. Easy to unpack and install, picture worse than our old TV !!! I had plugged into the wrong aerial socket !!! It's great, full range of Freeview Channels, super reception/picture/sound and control. My wife and I are rather older than most, and it's very comfortable, easy watching.Would certainly recommend it.
Didn't need the extra special cables. |

What a superb Christmas present this LG 42 inch television LG 42LH4000 42-inch Widescreen Full HD 1080p LCD TV with Freeview - Black / Indigo Blue Trimhas turned out to be between husband and wife.
After 42 years of marriage, we decided to treat ourselves to this incredible piece of
technology.
With the combination of it being used with high definition on Sky, we have found our interests
are widening , as to the programs we watch now.
The colour and clarity are absolutely superb; so much so,I have to keep telling myself it is not
on live, in the lounge !!
Kind regards Jim and Jenny Buttress |

As most people would, when I found myself with some cash burning a whole in my pocket for a new TV, I did a lot of research on the net. I found with my last TV (32 inch toshiba), I went on price, and while this is a very well priced TV, that strategy meant I always had something I wasn't really happy with. Anyway, learnt by my mistakes, and also equipmed me with the knowledge and list of features I wanted to be happy with my next TV purchase.
Step up the LG 42LH4000.
I definitely wanted 1080p. My last TV was 720p, and while this was much better than standard def, I wanted to get the max out of bluray films and my ps3. The TV itself is huge. I don't have a very big living room, but I love how big it seems. certainly much bigger than the 10" difference with my old TV would suggest. The styling is amazing, sleek and sexy. I feel LG have just put that little extra effort into this model.
Little things like when it powers up, the light doesn't just come on, it does a little 'knight rider' type thing (yes, I grew up in the 80's!), and also, you have the option to turn off the power light when the TV is in stand-by (not that we use standby of course, its unplugged from the wall every second no-ones using it, global warming and all...) The remote is easy to use, alhough I use my sky+ remote 99% of the time.
The picture settings are powerful too, with a lot of variety, you can also make the latest blockbuster movies look like they were shot on a handycam, and your home movies look like they were shot with blockbuster budgets. subtle changes in warmth etc make a huge difference, and these settings are all available at the touch of a button, not burried 15 levels down in some complex on screen menu.
As others have mentioned, the sound quality is excellent. For movies and my ps3 I can't fault it. Ok, its no high end 5.1 surround system, but the bass is excellent, the sound crisp and rich, and for me, it makes me feel like I purchased a quality item, not feel I now have to go and buy a cinema system to get decent sound.
Thinner than I thought it would be, bigger than I thought it would, sounds much better than I ever thought to, I am very happy with my purchase. |
Brilliant Product & Brilliant Delivery

I spent a long time looking for the right TV at the right price. This price beat any other prices in the 'coming up to Christmas' battle. The reviews already submitted on Amazon were really helpful on the product, for example its right in saying if you want to mount it on the wall you would need to have a certain amount of space behind it as 2 of the hdmi ports are situated on the back, but this wasn't a problem for me as i've bought a nice tv stand. The tv is crisp and clear and has a really good functioning built-in freeview. It has everything you want from a tv and im really pleased.
The delivery an service was exceptional, they were able to deliver within a couple of days and on a saturday which suited me so well and gave me a rough estimated time. On top of this the driver rang me when he was on his way and when he got stuck in traffic, which hardly delayed him at all, but was a brilliant personalised service which not alot of company's offer.
So far a month after buying the product, both me and my partner are really pleased. |
