| I was looking to upgrade a 32" Hitachi LCD that I'd owned for four years and did a lot of research into bigger LCD TV's. I didn't want to spend over £1,000 and having looked at numerous different makes and models the LG 47LH4000 ticked all the right boxes. The picture is crystal clear with standard sky (HD coming soon!) and the set has a 100mhz refresh rate and LG's patented 'TruMotion' technology. The contract of the colours is fantastic. Built in freeview, 3 HDMI inputs, twin scarts, USB ports, you can read the technical blub above. I cannot find a single fault with this set and it was at the same price as the 47LH3000. I think that this TV does everything and more in comparision with sets costing up to £1,200. You will not be disappointed with this TV. |

I cannot say enough to recommend this televison. I am so pleased that I decided to replace and upgrade my original Sony Brava lcd 40 inch television in my living room for this LG 47 inch. I gave my son the Sony one. This LG television is remarkable in colour, performance, picture quality, response time, everything! :)
It is of an extremely high specification and is all it claims to be, which is rare these days. I think it says it all when my friends visit and immediately tell me how impressed they are with the quality and clarity of the picture. And of course it's good looks, being of piano glass black surrounding frame and stand. The fact that it is 47 inches has made a huge difference to my viewing. Now I tend to need popcorn and pepsi to make the cinema experience complete. :) |

The LG474000 is great value 100Hz 3 HDMI + lots of other inputs, very easy to use witch is good as the manual is pants! love the hidden speakers Comparing to the LED Samsung on full 1080p i do not think there is much in it and its half the price. Its worth the upgrade from my Panasonic plasma and its so light in comparison, need to go to hospital to fix hernia after lifting the panasonic off the wall bracket.
I wouldn't bother going up the range any more as the screen is the same just more features you will never use, although i did nearly look at the 7700 with built in freesat.
All in all very happy and LG (when did they change from Lucky Goldstar to Life's Good) actually build there own glass (they supply it to Phillips and Toshiba) so if you are driving off blu ray or hd sat you can't really get much better, (no processing, make sure you setup just scan rather than 16x9 though) and certainly not for the price
Pros: Great value, great picture
Cons: Wife didn't approve the purchase so in the doghouse, Dog and I are enjoying the TV though, just need to buy a new fridge with bear so the wife puts that in here too!!! Mmmm...Beer |

I've had this TV for a few days now and I'm very impressed. The picture of standard def freeview straight out the box is outstanding. Watching BBC I-player though my PS3 works perfectly on this TV with surprisingly good picture quality.
I've not felt the need to mess around with any of the picture settings at all yet. Watching Star wars on DVD I was struck with just how involving this TV is, really sucking you into the action with vibrant colures and nice deep blacks.
The sound also is surprisingly good quality, this TV goes very loud! Especially compared to my girlfriends 42inch Sony. I'm certainly in no hurry to hook up my external speakers.
One thing though, the Indigo blue trim looks very blue in these picture, but in reality looks black. I had seen the TV in a local shop before hand however so it came as no surprise and I've still had everyone commenting on how amazing this TV looks! |

This is my first ever LCD TV after doing at lot of researching on the internet for the right make and model, I finally bought this 47LH400 LG from Amazon for around £660 - The title states Indigo blue but its not, the trim is black which looks better. This TV is now on my wall with the wires hidden behind the wall and it looks great. Switch it on, what a surprise, the setup is easy and the picture is perfectly clear, next I connected my new Sky HD box and used the HD channels, this is when the LG TV comes to life, the picture is amazing.
I now try and watch all my programs on HD which Sky now provide.
Any one thinking of buying a new HD TV must go for the 47LH400 - You will not be disappointed |

It took me a while to get used to the large screen, but now I really like it.
The picture is great.
I have only one gripe - that I cannot make the picture smaller!
Sometimes, I do not want such a huge picture coming at me; e.g. when watching people talking.
All in all, however, the TV is fantastic value, and Amazon's ordering system is soooo easy to use.

I have had this TV just under two weeks now. I previously had the 50hz 42" LG which the kids now have :)
Negatives: There are two annoying things about this TV:
1) I have a high quality swivel universal TV wall bracket. I removed my existing the 42" TV which had bracket mountings about 60 cm apart. The bracket mounting points on this 47" TV are only 30cm apart and too small for my existing wall bracket. I had some aluminium bar so I made a bracket so the new TV would fit.. So the warning here is you have to buy the LG wall bracket if you want to mount this TV!
2) The advert says Indigo Trim and all the pictures in the adverts show the trim projecting an indigo glow.... But when you get your TV it is just a plastic strip in indigo, which does not omit any light. Basically I do not know why they bothered with all the marketing bumf as the indigo look black from a distance. Therefore I think the adverts are very misleading... so again buyer beware if you think the indigo trim is going to look like the pictures in the adverts.
Neutral:
1) I can see no difference between this 100hz TV and my existing 50 Hz 42" LG
Positives:
1) Excellent price
2) Great picture quality via Sky HD and a PS3
