I looked at a number of TV's in shops (most of which looked dreadful due to the poor quality of the lighting in the shop or perhaps the quality of the feed they were given to display) and read lots and lots of reviews before deciding to buy the Panasonic TX-P42S10B. I am so pleased that I did buy it, as the quality of the picture is breathtaking. Sound quality from the built in speakers is excellent, but for me a TV is all about the picture quality and everytime I look at it I am taken aback by the sheer brilliance of it.
Buy one. You will not be disappointed. |

I bought this from a local store for a knock down price on a special offer. It is a brilliant television and of all the sets I researched, this one is packed with features and priced very reasonably.
It weighs 25kg which means its not a beast to mount on the wall. It has so many features: full HD, 2m:1 contrasts ratio, 400Hz picture, SD card port, 3 x HDMI, scart connectors, S-video, Divx/jpg/mpg playback.... and if you buy a Panasonic BD-player, you can control it from one remote!
Its finish is a stylish black front which can polish up to look irresistible. The stand which comes with it, while basic, is perfect for placing your TV on a cabinet or TV unit.
Highly recommended!! |

Bought this to replace my Sharp Aquos 32" LCD and boy is it sooo much better. First off the picture quality is superb. HD is stunning whether it be HD TV, blu ray or my PS3, vibrant colour and sharp detail with no ghosting on quick movement like football etc. Normal SD looks superb also, there is no pixellation on lower quality channels and DVDs look gorgeous.
plenty of features so you can tweak this to your hearts content. lots of connectors, diagnostic port, security features (it can store your details in case the telly gets stolen).
very simple to setup and easy to use.
Not often I get excited about a TV, but this TV is GREAT !!!! |

| How things have moved on in recent years! I can't believe how quiet this TV is in operation, compared to my old Hitachi plasma which had a very noisy fan whirring away all of the time. The Picture quality simply cannot be faulted, running Blu Ray movies through a HDMI cable from my Playstation 3 means it's about as good as it gets. My only gripes are very minor ones; the connector panel is on the back of the unit, meaning once it's installed on a wall bracket, it can be hard to access all of the inputs and outputs, and the shiny 'piano black' finish means it shows up fingerprints and dust very easily, you'll want to keep this beauty pristine! Sound quality is acceptable, but stereo output sockets and a digital optical output mean you can easily link it to your Hi-Fi or home cinema system. Top marks to Panasonic yet again and excellent service from Amazon to get it delivered so promptly! |

| After looking for a full HD television and checking prices I decided on this model with Amazon by far the best price. I wasn't disappointed. The picture is warm with outstanding colours and through the SKY HD box my wife was amazed watching 'Strictly Come Dancing' and the 'Life' series. As a major sports fan all the sport is crystal clear with the football, rugby and cricket you feel involved. The analogue picture is clear but this television excels in HD. If you're looking for a well priced fulll HD television check out this Panasonic. Amazon service was excellent delivering two days earlier than expected. |

Having completed a significant amount of research prior to purchase I which involved size specification, end user requirements I decided upon this particular manufacturer and model. There are higher specifications available than this TV but for my needs and as I required a separate FreeSat recorder I decided on this model. I have not been disappointed delivery from Amazon was good (Too good in fact as I was assured that the TV would not arrive too early as if it did I had not got availability to receive it ) On the free delivery it arrived two days after order!!
Setting up the TV was extremely simple and most of it was automatic from the onboard menu. The only thing that I had to spend time on was the picture settings to suit my individual needs and this took about an hour for me to establish the perfect settings for me. Prior to purchase I owned a 32 inch Panasonic CRT TV with what I considered to be a good picture but I had noticed that the later flat screen TV's on occasions looked superior to mine so this was one of the reasons for change. Now when I view these same TV's they look inferior to mine. This TV is well worth the money and I am more than pleased with the product

5 stars for picture quality

Superb picture quality. So it has to get 5 stars because that counts for 90% of the score and the reason everyone buys it. So rather than expand on how brilliant the picture quality is, here's some negative points on the other 10%.
There should be a `switch off' menu for all the stuff you don't want
- switch off internal speakers. Unless I'm going mad, its not possible. I'm using an old Sony Amp for my sound system so I didn't want the TV speakers active. I even tried plugging headphones into the headphone jack, but the speakers were still active, makes no sense at all. Sure, you can turn down the TV volume to zero, but someone in the family is always turning it back up again.
- switch off teletext services. So you get this banner coming up [press red for info] on say a news or sports program. Okay, fair enough, you press red button, then exit, banner comes up again. No way to switch it off . Bonkers. Its visual noise on the screen.
- switch off LEDs. You know there should be a special button on the controller which switches off all the LEDs on the TV, AMP, DVD player, etc, so you can watch the film in darkness without all the Xmas lights under the TV screen.
Oh, and get rid of the metallic strip under the screen, black is much better. And the stand is cheap shiny plastic.
Nice picture though.

Have had the TV just over a month now and have been really pleased with it. I did plenty of research befroe buying and spoke to a few guys in the shops who all said that the Panasonic was a great TV. The sound is great and thats without any extra surround sounds. THe blacks are deep and the picture clear, I have had a few problems with picture quality but this is more down to poor reception than anything else.
Also very quick delivery so very happy with everything. |

| After deciding on which TV to purchase this was my choice. I am so pleased I did so. The TV is excellent and well worth every penny. The picture quality is superb. I have a also purchased the Panasonic 250GB HD Sat, SD, USB recorder(DMRXS350-K)to go with it. (I chose not to have a TV with Free Sat included and this is the best alternative) It is faboulous. Both items are easy to us and the quality is amazing, and with a vast choice of free channels but with no monthly outlay in comparison should we had chosen to have SKY HD instead. |

| Bang for your buck with this purcahse, you aren't going to get a better spec TV for the money. Outstanding TV outstanding picture even the standard definition picture is great. Sound is adequate as well. Being able to put the SD card from my digital camera into the TV is also a plus point for viewing kodack moments back on the big screen. Blu-ray looks fantastic, PS3 looks good on it as well. Had it for 2 months now can't find anything wrong with it. |
It's a belter!

| Like so many Amazon customers, I browse for customer ratings on all of my purchases and then try to sort the wheat from the chaff! Without going into any technical detail (all of which is available in the spec) I would say that it is money well spent. I compared several TVs of similar spec in Curries etc and found that this model was as good, if not better, than all of them and at a very competitive price (from Amazon). It is visually appealing; the picture quality is excellent; ease of use is as easy or complex as you want to make it; Freeview works very well (even in my poor reception area) and BluRay is stunning. Sound quality is acceptable, but I got the Panasonic BluRay cinema kit which takes the experience to the next level. Well done Panasonic and Amazon! |
