Great Large TV, Great Price, 3 Year Warranty included

We've had this TV around 4 weeks now and I have to say that its a real pleasure to sit down and watch it. The picture is outstanding and better than the 42" Panasonic plasma it replaced. Sound is good as well and its easy to set up and the remote is easy to use as well.

The SD picture is surprising god and well detailed. The HD picture is fantastic.

If you are looking for a large TV this must be on your list to consider as it is great value for money.
Learn to take the tv off standby

A great television with amazing picture quality and sound, the star rating amazon is showing is mared by one purchaser not knowing how to take the tv out of standby, this isnt a product defect rather a person defect !

All in all a great price for a great product, I would say that the V series and W series are virtualy identicle in all respects and the 100hz scan on the w series (and to a greater extent the 200hz scan of the x series) arnt worth the extra money.
grab a bargin get the v while there still avaulable.
WOW Fantastic Picture and Size

I was very pleased with the look and feel of the TV. The stand was already fixed to the base and what imprested me was that it was on a turn table which rotated the TV.
I found the contestability to be excellent.
The only fault I would level at this 52" Sony TV is that the USB function is TOO SLOW!!! You have to wait ages for your pictures to scroll through and it almost makes itself obsolete. You would be better of connecting you PS3 and watch your pictures that way. This brings me to the excellent menu system which emulated the same style as the PS3.

Over all impression was that this was an excellent purchase.
Sony bravia TV, brilliant buy!!!!!!!!!

All I can say is that I originally had a 46" Sony Bravia TV which is about a year old and the difference is amazing. I am totally pleased with this buy and the picture is very good for this size of TV. I would recommend this to anyone as the price is so reasonable for this size. Brilliant buy!!!!!!!!
Very Good - Ignore the ethernet port

I bought this telly mainly for it's picture - at which it is extremely good - and if you have a sony surround system, then this will link in well with it. But, I'm sure you already knew all that.

Some points for people looking to buy this TV:

Applicast is useless - unless Sony put more widgets on (even the weather one would be nice), then it will be something you use once when you buy the telly, and never again.

The DNLA connectivity is good for music - but still limited. I assume the codec support for video is *very* limited - very few of the films on my NAS would even show up - never mind actually play.

Luckily, I have a PS3 and xbox 360 (just in case someone thought I only have Sony stuff...) - so they can link into DNLA much better - and as I said, I only really bought this telly for it's picture (I have to repeat - some people won't pick it up on the first, or even second mention).

It sounds like I'm having a go at the product, when I'm not - I just thought I would make the points for people looking at buying the telly for themselves - as a telly, it is really second to none - but don't expect the 'extras' to make any real difference to your life - they can all be done much better, with less fuss, by other means.

I hope this review is useful for you.
Awesome telly

This is a gorgeous Sony Bravia TV and good value at £1100. The box packaging is superb - you will need 2 people to manage the size and weight of the TV. With the package stood up, 4 clever plastic tabs enable you to lift the box right off to reveal the TV. The 4 screws (to attach the base stand) and the remote controller were tucked away obscurely inside the box. Once found it was a quick exercise to assemble and connect up. The auto set-up was a doddle and picture quality is stunning. Good on Freeview - stonking on HD. 3 year warranty is a nice touch from Sony and their product registration website is very user friendly. Home delivery network was supposed to call beforehand to agree delivery date/time but in fact 2 men and a van turned up unexpectedly one day - luckily just as my wife arrived home !
Over all a good buy.

I bought this tv and it arrived on time, 4 days before christmas day. The only problem i had was that it came with the wrong screws. they had the wrong thread to connect the stand to the tv. so i had to search my garage for the correct size. once found i had no problems with it. easy to update the freeview and all works perfectly. over all i would reccommend this tv to anyone.
Looks good, but won't switch on

Reviewer: A. Bell,
I'd bought this TV for my disabled, 85yr old, mother.

Have set it up for her, but every time you try to switch it on, it won't, unless you unplug and re plug the TV from the electric socket. Clearly something my mother can't do.

This will make me think twice about ordering from Amazon again (and I do buy an awful lot), instead I'll order locally, to get local support.

Regards
Andrew Bell
