Superb Buy

After much deliberation between a few different TV's, I decided to purchase this one. I'm so glad I did as it is an excellent TV, feature packed and excellent value for money.

Out of the box the SD picture on both the built in freeview and freesat via HDMI is excellent. The Resolution + upscaling of SD pictures is a worthy feature. for instance the on screen text on a channel such as sky sports news is crisp and sharp, even at 37". There are plenty of pre set and advanced options such as backlight calibration to tweak things to suit your taste if required.

HD is superb, personally its the best HD picture I've seen for an LCD TV at this size/price. I have an Apple TV box connected to this set at 1080p, and viewing digital photos at full resolution is stunning.

There are plenty of HDMI ports, 3 on the back and one on the side, well placed for connecting camcorders/laptops etc. There's also a USB port, which will except FAT 32 pen drives, so the TV can play DivX films and photos directly off the stick.

Another feature I like is how narrow the frame is around the screen, compared to other 37" tv's. Even in a relatively small room, it doesn't over power and look out of place. At the moment its hanging up on the wall, displaying stunning HD, a great piece of kit.

Great T.V.

I have had mine for about 2 weeks now after long deliberation and checking reviews on various different models.

This t.v. is for the bedroom as I have a Samsung 40LE656 in my living room. I use my t.v. for my playstation 3 and normal tele watching.

I think the set is great...I was a little worried about ghosting and smearing that some reviews mention, but as yet i have not seen it. Watched Die Hard 4 from a panasonic dvd and picture is perfect, nice and crisp with no motion problems at all. Its the same with the PS3. Modern Warfare looks great and Blu Rays are superb.

I was amazed by the SD picture from the onboard freeview. I like it better than my Samsung ( this maybe becasue of the slightly smaller screen ) looks crisp and clear again with no noticeable smearing.

The EPG ( PROGRAMME GUIDE ) is suberb. There are seperate lists for T.V. and radio and much better layout than the Samsung.....is a pleasure to use. Te remote is functional and responsive, again have heard some moans about this but it is perfectly adequate.

The spec is great for the money. 100hz works well as well as the upscaling of standard definition pictures.

Read What Hi fi regularly and the Toshiba's never get a top rating...this is a great looking set with loads of extras and is easy to use with a great picture from whatever source...In my view it gets top marks and on top of that, it is very good value for money....

Buy with confidence, Good work Toshiba.....
Brilliant TV, excellent features and picture

Excellent picture straight from the box, can be improved with minor changes in preferences in menus. I am running standard def through sky and the picture is incredibly good with the 100hz functionality and advanced smoothing etc. The feeling of 'depth' (and panoramic views) in the picture with the screen this size is brilliant. Recommended -- buy one.
This Toshiba Regza is a bargain best-kept secret.

I've had this Toshiba for about a week now and I'm seriously impressed with it. The amount of features you get (37-inch, full 1080p HD, 100Hz, Freeview, 4 HDMI ports, USB Divx etc) is impressive enough, but it's got excellent picture quality to back it up. The sound is also better than what I thought an LCD TV could produce, although it's now plugged into my surround hi-fi and it's now beautiful.

The main draw for getting this TV was it's reputed stellar performance on standard definition sources, and it does not disappoint. Toshiba's Resolution+ feature really does bring up my SD Sky and Freeview pictures to not far off HD quality. Better than a lot of others I've seen. I can't wait to see what it does in proper HD, so a blu-ray set-up will be imminent. The 100Hz processing does a very good on the picture in keeping everything looking natural and significantly reduces motion blur, although I still detect some blur occasionly but enough to bother me. My live football viewing has been very enjoyable.

Another bonus is that you can play your DivX movies, MP3s and photos straight off your USB stick and SD cards (photos only I think), and it works very well. The Freeview TV guide is also clear. The remote is good and doesn't feel cheap like some other brands. You can also use it for a Toshiba DVD or other Regza-Link devices.

Toshiba Regza flat-screen TVs never seem to get mentioned in the same way as the Sony Bravias, Panasonic Vieras etc. But this is one best kept secrets that could change that. It might not have quite the same sexy styling as the others, but I like it's simple sleek black look. A quality TV for the price.
Wow... seriously impressed

After spending a month agonising over which LCD TV I should get I eventually opted for this based on the reviews here and on other websites. Took no time at all to setup and you are impressed from the moment you switch it on. Picture quality across the board is excellent, but in HD it really is awesome. I watch a lot of sports and the last few weeks watching Sky Sports HD have been excellent. Just wished my team could perform as well as this TV.

I'm still surprised at how little it cost. I'd recommend this TV to anyone. Its an Absolute bargain.

As with most reviewers I researched this purchase for weeks before committing to this Toshiba model. I think it's important to put reviews into context. I was upgrading from a Sharp 26 inch HD-Ready LCD TV from 2005, not a CRT model. So my expectations were realistic. Also I decided to pay a bit more for a 100Hz model.

Also, all my reception is via digital antenna and Freeview. No HD, all SD. My family tend to view the TV from around 6-8 feet away.

First, the picture is very good but does need a little time for both you and the TV to adjust automatically (light, pre-sets, etc.). I noticed an improvement minutes later and the picture is considerably better at 6-8 ft than 1-2 ft. I did view various brands at a famous department store and can say that perhaps the Samsung models appeared to have better blacks. But honestly the Toshiba is as about as good as any of the other brands in the LCD segment.

Second, the Resolution + coupled with 100Hz has made watching football, for example, more enjoyable. I have been surprised at the sharpness of the players' faces. Yes, there's still a little bit of blur, a bit of halo around the ball. I'm not sure one can do too much better without an LED screen on 200Hz. And I wasn't prepared to pay for that quality. Also have watched a recent film shot in black/white, "Good Night and Good Luck", on DVD via an X-box and I thought it was outstanding. The gamers in my family seem happy, but that to me is slightly more about size of screen than anything else. I'm not a gamer, so please no emails.

Third, the price I paid makes Toshiba the best value by far. Had to wait a while for it to come back in stock at that price but worth it.
Excellent product

I read the previous reviews before purchasing this item - not sure why people don't like the remote controller it works for me and seems fine, maybe some people are pickie! Anyway item arrived next day as promised and was out of the box and up and running within 15 minutes. Would recommend this product works well and is an even better bargain now at least £80 cheaper than when I bought it - I knew I should have waited a couple of weeks!
A great buy for the price

I looked at several LCD televisions and was recommended this one by my local dealer as it offered the best picture quality for the money. With resolution+, the picture is close to HD quality although it can pixilate at times. The TV was easy to set up, and the menu is pretty much self explanatory. The only negative is that there is no instruction manual for fine tuning which must be downloaded from the Toshiba website. The inbuilt freeview is great with a clear guide and alot of additional programme information. The sound quality is also very good and there are a number of options including Dolby.
Of course, there are better TVs out there if you want to spend the money, but for the price, this is an excellent purchase.
Great Buy

I found the 37" LCD Toshiba to be the easiest TV that I have ever set up. It has excellent features and displays a crisp and totally realistic picture. When I use the Sky HD it gives the best quality picture I have seen. Indeed two of my friends have purchased one since viewing mine. Superb value for money.

Good service from Amazon only took 3 days,on free delivery service. The TV was very easy to set up,and the picture is great, very clear and sharp, with good colour.I was looking at a Panasonic as I have a Panasonic dvd recorder, but when I compared price the Toshiba won hands down, also in the shops the picture was comparable to the Panasonic.Another bonus is that the links between the TV and dvd seem to work even though they are diffrent makes so I can use one remote.Toshiba Regza 37XV635D 37-inch Widescreen Full HD 1080p 100Hz LCD TV with Freeview
